Course Description:
The mission objective for this course is to increase the shooters existing abilities in tactical pistol marksmanship. Students will be introduced and tested on advanced shooting concepts and skills created to increase speed, efficiency and accuracy while maintaining focus under stress on the combat applications of each skill.
Shooters will be mastering the fundamentals by conducting a series of progressive training evolutions under instruction in order to gain proficiency. Students will experience a series of physical drills for training under fatigue and stress in order to develop critical thinking and focus in a high stress live fire environment.
Pre-requisites: Must have completed Bear Mouth Precision Basic Pistol Course or equivalent certification
Fundamental Objectives
- Application of Advanced shooting fundamentals
- Body position for different shooting scenarios
- Draw
- Sight, recoil, and trigger management
- Magazine changes and tactical reloads
- Target transitions (Priority of threats)
- Malfunction drills
- Shooting from cover (barricades and facades)
- Shoot while moving from cover to cover
- Cover drills and pair/team shooting and movement from cover to cover
Equipment:
- Full size pistol
- Holster and belt (Links to what we recommend)
- 3 magazines
- Magazine carrier
- Eye and ear protection (shooting glasses and electronic earmuffs)
- Range attire (long pants, closed toed shoes) – Must be able to run
- Solid footwear
- Water
- Ammunition:
Each shooting student must bring 1000 rounds of their own ammunition for the caliber of their pistol.
